Current Event in South Korea
North Korea has fired six missiles off the coast of South Korea in the past three days. North Korea claims that the missiles were military drills, but they seemed more like a warning as they followed after two months of continuous threats to the South. North Korea is practicing these drills to "strengthen our defense capacity" says the Peaceful Reunification of Korea. These missiles signified North Korea's stance on starting a nuclear war if South Korea or the U.S. made any moves or threats against them.
This is similar to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. Although the Koreans aren't killing each other in this case, they are still firing at the other to show their power. The Palestinians and Israelis were constantly fighting against one another and there was a lot of tension which is similar to that of the Korean Peninsulas. There was constant bombing to show power and attempts to make the other side back down.

Stone artifacts were found in Gonglou, China.. In total 102 artifacts were found and recorded. These artifacts are providing new data for the studying of lithic techniques in the early Middle Pleistocene in South China.. The finders recorded their artifacts in the newest issue of Acta Anthropologica Sinica. The artifacts were found in vermiculated red earth, including "cores(n=4), flakes(n=22), choppers(n=47), picks(n=21), scrapers(n=6) and handaxe(n=1)." The tools assembly correlates with the Pebble Tool Industry (Main Industry) in South China.
I would use these stone artifacts to conduct research about early ways of life. They could be used to research how the Chinese people living in Gonglou used everyday appliances and how they crafted tools. This would help us to see into the early ways of the Chinese peoples lives. This research would also give us insight to human evolution.
